Private Lives

Private Lives

Private Lives

A play by: Noel Coward
Presented through special arrangement with Samuel French, Inc

One of Broadway’s most revived, and most popular plays, Private Lives, is the dazzling, irresistible comedy that author Noel Coward is best known for. We are thrilled to add this show to our 2015 offerings. A tantalizing look at love, loathing, and lust, this show is a must-see!

A 1930 comedy of manners, Private Lives focuses on a divorced couple who, while honeymooning with their new spouses, discover that they are staying in adjacent rooms at the same hotel. Despite a perpetually stormy relationship, they realize that they still have feelings for each other.

Duo Sequenza presents "American Treasures"

Duo Sequenza presents "American Treasures"

Duo Sequenza's dynamic performances have received enthusiastic standing ovations from audiences throughout the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Debra Silvert, hailed as a “gem of a flutist” and classical guitarist Paul Bowman, a well-known tour de force in contemporary music, will present "American Treasures," on Wednesday, May 20 at 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Opera House.

This special Debut Concert of music by living American composers Easley Blackwood, David Noon, Ned Rorem and Robert Beaser consists of audience-acclaimed favorites, including commentary. Both Blackwood and Rorem (Pulitzer Prize 1976) are Hoosiers by birth. If you think you don't like classical music, you haven't heard Duo Sequenza!

May is National Chamber Music Month and an auspicious time for the Duo to relaunch their celebrated collaboration as nationally touring chamber artists.  Silvert, a Valparaiso resident for over 35 years, and Bowman, a native of Chesterton, are committed to encouraging public interest and support of serious art music by introducing new audience members to this compelling instrumental combination with an eye toward broadening the national audience for chamber music in general.  Their mission is to help awaken classical music’s transformative power in the general public by presenting the highest level of musical artistry to audiences throughout the U.S. Their goal is that each listener leave the recital hall smiling and humming!

Duo Sequenza is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit 501(c)(3) arts service organization.

Make sure to visit Duo Sequenza's Facebook page for more exciting information on the artists!
